Jeff Gilbert, LCPC, CST, Regenerative Psychotherapist. He spent years apprenticing with a Shipibo shaman full time and living with him and his family in the Peruvian Amazon, learning what it means to know the forest as a living being - and to feel its destruction in the body. He experienced how that destruction impacted the Shipibo family he loved, including the children, and saw clearly how he participated in it through everyday things like plastics and fuel.

Before that he had a psychotherapy practice, that included working with everyday people recovering from trauma and addiction. Upon returning to the States for a short while, he found he was still using a lot of plastics and fuel, and still inside the same systems he knew were harmful. He recognized this not as hypocrisy but as an addictive pattern - one that needed the same tools he'd used with himself and others for years: honest witnessing, somatic awareness, EMDR, community, and step by step footwork.

He went on to co-found a bioregional regeneration group in Costa Rica, bringing together scientists, farmers, organizers, and community members to plan for real futures together. He co-created globalsolutionsgame.com for people who sense something is deeply off - with the energy situation, debt, food systems, ecological collapse - but can't find a clear path forward. The site distills what's actually happening, and points toward regenerative alternatives like bioregional regeneration, regenerative agriculture, and sociocracy. But it also addresses why change is so hard. Then the tools of inner work - from 12-step to EMDR – can help clear the trance that keeps people frozen. Interactive discussions, “global solutions games” then make the whole picture real.

His work draws from his years in the Amazon and a decade of living close to the ground in Latin America, often on farms. His experiences in the Amazon crystallized the inner and outer are not separate. He works from the understanding that healthy topsoil, clean watersheds, and consciousness are of the same web of life. What fills his heart is being in places of such beauty time stops, and there is only awe.
